Council seeks input to shape the economic future of Baw Baw Shire

The Board is seeking input to shape the economic future of Baw Baw Shire.

Baw Baw Shire Council is currently seeking community and business input for the 2022-2025 Visitor Economy and Economic Development Strategy Project.

The draft strategy aims to develop and ensure sustainable economic growth and a bright and prosperous future for the region and its businesses. It identifies four key areas for the growth of the Baw Baw Shire economy:

  • Leadership and advocacy
  • Commercial attraction and investment
  • Business and workforce development
  • Visitor economy and major events

Feedback received throughout the public consultation will directly inform a range of Council actions over the next three years aimed at boosting Baw Baw’s economic development.

How residents and businesses can get involved:

This draft strategy is now open for public review and comment. To provide input, interested community members can complete an online and paper survey or make a written submission to Council.

This consultation opportunity will remain open until Monday, November 15, 2021.

Following this consultation period, the Board will collate and consider all comments received and identify key themes that the community would like to see incorporated into the new strategy.

The refined 2022-2025 economic development and visitor economy strategy will then be presented to Council for adoption later in the year.
